In a shocker that NOBODY saw coming, JMS' written Spider-Man #536 attacks the prison that couldn't have been closer to being Gitmo without being NAMED Gitmo.

"I’ve seen the very concept of justice destroyed, I’ve seen heroes and bad guys alike — dangerous guys, no mistake, but still born in this country for the most part, denied due process, and imprisoned, potentially for the rest of their lives. … But there’s a point where the ends don’t justify the means, if the means require us to give up not just our identities, but who and what we are as a country.”

Yeah, even-handedness! Who saw this ending up as a podium to attack the War on Terror? I mean, really, who saw this coming?

As I told LIM elsewhere, Civil War Frontline is so ridiculously over-the-top heavy-handed that it's unbelievable. Nothing but one huge criticism of the Patriot Act and Gitmo, without ANY of the fairness that Joe Quesada, JMS, etc., promised us that we'd be seeing with the Civil War storyline.

I said back then that was just bullshit we were being fed and I was right.

Meanwhile, I'll still continue to enjoy Planet Hulk and Annihilation, both of which are remarkably more entertaining than any of this Civil War nonsense.
