I don't know if anyone saw this at firstones.com, but download this the TBP intro movie. Awesome battle scene with good music. Check it at http://www.3dap.com/hlp/hosted/babylon/ or just go to firstones.com and download there. Its worth it! :D

Sweet. Thanks for the heads up.

FYI: I found it easiest to go to http://www.firstones.com, and download from the link at the end of the TBP Release 1 intro movie article.

As long as we are downloading cool fan-made video, don't forget to download the "In the Perkinning" trailor from Star Wreck (http://www.starwreck.com/). A coupla Finnish twentysomethings are making a great spoof on "Star Trek meets Babylon 5" and the results are kinda amazing. Make sure you look at the portions of the site that explain how the thing is made. What they have done with bluescreen is astoundingly professional-looking.

It's called In the Pirkinning. And it is going to be extremely awesome. As a finn I got the chance even to play a small role in it.

They are hoping to finish it by the end of this year.

Just out of curiosity, is there anything coming out of the TBP ?

Because on Firstones.com it says: "This particular intro was never finished, it's still very good intro movie and we thought it would go to waste if people never see it."

Does that indicate that the whole movie thingie is unfinished and will never see the light of day, or just that the one particular intro was abandoned?

From everything I read about TBP, they are making mods for "Freespace" so you can do fleet combat/resource building/etc in the Freespace universe, with B5 ships/races.

After going to all the work of making the ship models for the Freespace mod, I think they had time on their hands, and made up the video.

It looks like they made up entire campaigns, like the Earth - Minbari war.

NotKosh, your Firstones.com link above seems to be broken.
I get a Not Found error when I click on it.

You might want to go back and edit it.

:D :D ;)

Nope, it doesn't mean a thing. There's bunch of other things that don't mean shit either :o)

I suggest you download the earlier Star Wrecks starting from the third episode. They are all subtitled in english so there shouldn't be any language problems.

BTW is the Freespace mod already finished and ready to be downloaded somewhere ?

The animated ones are okay, but the live action ones are a real hoot! I am looking forward to the release of ItP, if that ever comes. I have been following it for years and it is always just "a little while longer" (though to be fair it has been getting steadily more sophisticated). Amzing work for fanstuff.

My favourite is the intro movie for the Babylon5 Mod (http://www.jmsnews.com/Forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=42) made to convert the Star Trek Armada 2 game.

Its only a few minutes long, but utterly breathtaking. With outstanding CGI (better than that used in the show)

I know at least one of the game creators pops in here from time to time (Davco92). Perhaps he could tell us how and where it was made ? (also if it's available as a stand alone download)

Link updated

As for FreeSpace, I think TBP has a release 2 out there. Release 3 is close, and still developing.

Spotted something interesting on the Amazon page advertizing the B-5 Movies:

Babylon 5 - The Movie Collection

DVD ~ Bruce Boxleitner

Gee, I didn't know Bruce was responsible for the B-5 Movies. :D :D   ;) ;) :p :p

I almost feel off my seat as I thought it was only a Star trek parody...

Actually, erm, no, Freespace is a Space Combat Simulator, so you don't do fleet combat, you fly around in a starfury.

But it's one of the best B5 games out there (despite the lack of newtonian physics), and, having made a few missions for it, I wholly recommend it. Not to mention that the original Freespace 2 (whose codebase it uses) is probably the best game next to none. And legally downloadble, natch.
