For those who don't check the front page as obsessively as I do :o JMS posted an update on many of his projects last night. (http://jmsnews.com/msg.aspx?id=1-17815)

> Shattered Union

Working on it now.

> The Flickering Light

May have something interesting to say about this in March or April.

> Forbidden Planet

Next draft turned in, waiting for responses.

> Lensman

Working on it now.

> They Marched into Sunlight

On hold pending a new director. Also the political climate has
changed a bit, so it's not as timely as it was.

Warners is more than satisfied with the results.

I'm finishing writing Midnight Nation as a movie which one of the
biggest producers in town wants me to also direct. There may also be
some movement soon on Dream Police and a new SF film trilogy I've put
together for film.

I thought I'd posted asking about the trilogy but it hasn't shown up yet. I'll see if it's taking the long way around before reposting.

The trilogy subjects really sounds interesting. As for the rest, while interested in all those projects, Lensman and Forbidden Planet have my biggest attention right now, regarding JMS movie projects.

How close is World War Z to happening?

I don't think I've heard anything since they brought in the new writer.

The Flickering Light (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1248880/)-page on imdb seems to have some updated info...

Someone's added a plot synopsis: "Prisoners at a Gypsy concentration camp are pulled out for a task they could never have anticipated. Based on a true story."

JMS is credited as both writer AND director.

Produced by
Sara Barnes .... executive producer
Grant Hill .... producer
J. Michael Straczynski .... executive producer

Other crew
James Whitaker .... production executive

Filming Locations: Berlin, Germany

Production Companies: Imaginary Voices Entertainment (in association with)

Other Companies: Studio Babelsberg (studio)

Seems like the last update was on January 9.

So.. holocaust film apparently? And JMS directing? Let's see if this turns out to be accurate.

Cool. He has talked about possibly doing some directing lately. And since it's his own production company, presumably he'll have a sufficient budget this time around. ;)

Since JMS has now had the opportunity to work with Clint Eastwood, I suspect he has learned something about directing as a result. I hope that he does direct the film. :D

That wouldn't have anything to do with the 23rd century of Earth at the dawn of the third age of mankind, would it? :( (Hope, hope, hope)

No. There are no true stories in the 23rd century.
