Oh yeah, I'm there.

I've skimmed through it a couple of times and I can't see when the debut discount expires. I presume that since this was brought forward early for holiday shopping, that the discount period will be longer than usual, but ...

If you see it in the article, please mention it.

Not able to look in depth right now. Best bet is to email Captain Jaclyn at help@b5books.com

I expect you're right about it being longer.

I sent a note.

I just need to decide whether I want the hardbacks in addition to the online version.

I'm certain to get both. I'll probably only use the online edition but don't think I could resist the books.

Yeah...I'm obsessive... :o

What absolutely horrible timing. Am I the only one who doesn't have a dime thanks to the holiday season? :(

DeMonk 12-14-2016 02:20 PM

This is fantastic. Perfect timing in June too: that will be the best birthday present ever.

That's why I am hoping that the discount period is longer than usual. The timing is good news/bad news in that respect - good for people who want to buy it or get it as a gift, but bad if you are already tapped out. If the discount period is long enough, it won't matter that much.

Jan, I suspect you've been helping with this project for years, but signed a non-disclosure agreement that prevented you from talking about it. ;)

Keep in mind that the Captain has always been very generous in granting the discount outside of the deadlines. All it generally takes is an email. One of the many reasons I like them!! (yeah, I consult but I'm still a customer, too.)

I just received a reply from Lt. Brandon about the discount period:

"The Fan Council decides these dates -- just like they asked for a holiday release. Our understanding is until December 31. If it changes, it will be longer not shorter. The goal is to make sure every fan who wants to get it at the huge savings price has that chance."

Makes sense. Always keep in touch with Capt. Jaclyn and her elves! :)

Greetings from Sector 14 (lol!)

We are petitioning the Fan Council for mid-January because the timing really sucks for some people and that was NOT the goal.

Remember though that if you ever miss a debut discount period for any reason and you are an established customer we will ALWAYS grant you the debut price. -- Captain Jaclyn
