A curious thing about Michael York

The other day I was semi-watching TV, when I heard a familiar voice. It was Michael York, and the astonishing thing was that he was playing King Arthur in a film called A Knight in Camelot with Whoopi Goldberg. Amazing )

For those who do not know who is Michael York, he played the EA soldier in Late Delivery From Avalon who thought he was non other than King Arthur.

Perhaps you don't know this but FYI : Michael York sort of specializes in those parts. A bit like the male Jane Seymour as it were. He's very well-known in the - how shall I say it - the world of costume-plays. He did 'The taming of the shrew', Romeo and Juliet, Cabaret, The three musketeers, etcetera.

And, one of my very favorite roles of his: he did the audio book version of Anne Rice's "The Vampire Lestat." An incredible reading!

My favourite has to be Logan's Run. A truely original, landmark film.

(Oh, and, Jenny Agutter was FINE )

Speaking of Logan's run.....

Interesting note, I was just remenissing over the Logan's run tv series that I remember from when I was a kid and saw this :

Quote:
I think CBS just did not know what to do with this show or who should be the sponsor. Lemon Joy and Sandmen did not mix all that well. CBS has a history of giving up on science fiction shows after the pilot (as with some of Gene Roddenberry's projects) or midway through a season as in Planet of the Apes and Logan's Run, both of which only ran for 13 episodes.
That sounds familiar. Only ran for 13 episodes, network did not know what to do with it and cancelled it. Hmmmmm, its nothing new then !

Also noticed Harlan Ellison even wrote a treatment for one of the episodes.
