Dream Police News (SPOILERS)

No, not really any spoilers yet but might as well get ready.

If my calculations are correct, the first issue of the new Dream Police should be coming out in about a month. Joe's Comics just sent out heavy metal Dream Police badges to the retailers and deputized them.

JMS just posted that the cutoff date for your Local Comic Shop to order Dream Police #1 is coming up quickly. And just look at this trailer!

I may have to read this one on my iPad. Looks like the art's gonna be mind-blowing.

The scene with the cat was brilliant.

To expand a bit....why I liked it. Even if you didn't read the original one, you get a sense of the universe (for lack of a better word) Joe and Frank live and work in, seemingly kind of an eternal 'now', which is much like dreams, right? There's obviously a number of denizens of the dream world, some more benign than others, and a hierarchy where some of the dream elements can advance.

This first issue gives you a good feel for the relationship between Frank and Joe. One has to wonder how much of that will change (if any) given the ending of this issue.

Sid Kotian's art is great. I can see the resemblance to his work on Apocalypse Al but it's not so similar as to be distracting.

I'm really disappointed that there was no audio drama for this one. I'd have loved to hear the take that Robin Atkin Downes et al would have done. I'm glad that we had as many as we did, but...yeah, I'm spoiled and I want it ALL, all the time!

And how cool is it that JMS wrote the "Joe's Counter" column from Mumbai?!

ETA: JMS answered my question about the audio dramas. It's as I feared.

Drat. Such a great idea. Wonder if it might have gotten more play without the QR code part and just posted the URL.
