10 years after

"Time passes quickly..."(*)

Today ten years ago on May 20, 2008 "Changeling" premiered at the 61st Cannes Film Festival.

Afterwards JMS was double-nominated:
On the 62nd British Academy Film Awards for "Best Screenply"
and
on the 35th Saturn Awards for "Best Writing"

JMS, Clint Eastwood, Angelina Jolie at Cannes:

(*) Shakespeare, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Act 1, Scene 1, Hippolyta to Theseus; well, part of the quote

Stephen Hawking: "Remember to look up at the stars and not down at your feet. Try to make sense of what you see and wonder about what makes the universe exist."

The Changeling story was a very good one about a serious topic, but somehow it failed to grab me 100%. I do not know why. It gets even more mysterious as the production was fantastic, the movie looks amazing, sets, costumes, props, everything. Even Angelina did a great job. But for some reason I can only give it an Good rather than Great grade.

I agree 100%. I don't believe any of the issues I have with THE CHANGELING have anything to do with JMS. I do admit that I have a bias against Jolie, but that is because I think she is highly overrated - though I feel THE CHANGELING might be her best work. lol I don't dislike the film. I just feel like Satai with Punsch, "Good rather than Great".
