JMS's Funny Posts

He's been on top of posting to off-topic threads lately and making witty remarks. Could this be a return to the glory days of his usenet use because he's so excited about new B5?!

I sure hope so! In reading the early posts on this website, it is clear that there was a small, tight-knit group of folks on Genie that JMS really enjoyed interacting with. Those days seem long-gone (at least if you are dealing with a public website) but when I read this comment that Joe made before the first season of B5 aired --

"One thing I've discovered in something like 10 years of
net-surfing is that I'm always surprised. And in the case of B5, there
have been many questions raised, many challenges made, for which I didn't
have immediate, ready answers. It's forced me to think about things and
come up with answers I didn't know I needed until the question was posed.
All things considered, it's been a valuable and educational experience."

-- I think that there is a chance that he will be looking for input from folks like us who care so much about the universe that he created.

That is probably a pipe-dream, but as we all know we should never surrender dreams!

You know, I think he is actually thinking along those lines. He had a problem with someone on the newsgroup which could explain his absense. So I'll hold on to your pipe dream too.

It depends on the type of "input" you are talking about. Story ideas, I imagine, will remain strictly off-limits.

The only kind of input I can see him welcoming would be (as before) the asking of questions that he didn't realise needed answers.

There is no doubt about that. And since the "universe" of B5 is now firmly established there will not be the sort of questions there were back in the early 90's (should there be sound in space, how should a PPG look/sound etc.) Still, the openness of JMS' relationship with his fans is fairly unique and I hope that we will wind up with some opportunities to chime in with our thoughts directly to him.

Which ones? You mean the last two posts?

Cause those deserved a *car crash*.

My only regret......is that pretty much NONE of you will even get that reference. But it's apropos.
