hey guys, I've been thinking about the digital download aspect...in audio, that market has been dwarfing brick and mortar sales fo a while. What if WB were to make HD remakes available digitally? Most computers are already HD video compatible, and this would reduce the manufacturing costs as well.

They must have had a few probs with formats/aspect
ratios then too...
I noticed they all have to tilt their heads to watch
Max's stuff !!!!
(Not good ergonomically LOL).

I heard on the News that "The VCR is DEAD",
Apparently they will no longer be manufactured.
Time to transfer all those tapes to the "INDESTRUCTABLE"
DVD/CD (Ha, remember that one ??? "can't be damaged
or scratched & last forever".....).
Oh well ANOTHER upgrade $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

CHEERS from OZ

I currently own two working VCRs. I had better go pick up another one and keep it in the box. I have a few things on VHS that I like to watch, such as several MST3K episodes.

I've done it as well, just to secure that I wont't lose anything. I still keep the old tapes, too. You never know.

I know that CGI models of original show somehow "disappeared" but still - were those the same models which were used in all the films? I would think that at least one film could ever made it to HD quality...

And I know that Lost Tales was low-budget film, but all models were built again and I don't see any problem why it shouldn't made it to HD quality... Do you think that we will see some Babylon 5 in HD in a couple of years?

The TV movies were made before the files were lost, so that has the same issue as the series -- those CGI shots don't exist on film, so either WB is stuck with the low resolution CGI or has to pay a company a lot of money to create new CGI, which is unlikely. I believe they discovered the CGI files were missing when production on Legend of the Rangers started. As for The Lost Tales, it was all newly created CGI, and I don't think there is any problem with converting that one to HD.

Man, of all the luck, the only thing that could be easily converted to Blu-Ray is the Legend of the Rangers pilot/TV movie.

The universe is convulsing in laughter at our expense.

Talking

oh the rotating weapon thingy just makes me wanna hide under the chair with shame - especially the bit where she goes a bit 'mental'. Oh and who threw a black cowl over a stuffed mooses head for the bad guys?

Back to topic.

Watching S3 on DVD last night and have finally realised why B5 should and will never be released on BR. The pictures kinda rubbish when u compare it to HD. The SFX were good for their time - but would need re-doing at enormous expense.

Why not just make a Cinematic Movie in HD (or 2, or 3) and get it over with.

Come on WB - you know it makes sense.
