Echoes of All Our Conversations

I was just wondering if anybody noticed this sentence sitting quietly in the middle of the B5 Books page:

COMING MARCH 14: AN ALL-NEW BABYLON 5 BOOK SERIES
This 6-volume series will give fans an experience of Babylon 5 they've never had before. It's all fresh material, never published before by B5 Books.

According to my calendar, that's just a little more than three weeks from now!

I somehow think that you have the inside information about the contents of this series.

The announcement is out

Just got an email with all the info on this. Looks exciting!

Not sure i can afford $49 a month for the next 6 months though.

Time to play with the monthly budget!

Joe, on the site it says,
Quote:
WHERE DID THESE INTERVIEWS COME FROM?
Journalist Joe Nazzaro. Bits and pieces of the interviews appeared in various SF magazines during the '90s in edited form.
Do you have a feel for how much unpublished material from your interviews is included (i.e. ratio of published to unpublished)? Was most of it not included at time of publication for reasons of space? Anything else you'd like to say about your interviews?

'I somehow think that you have the inside information about the contents of this series.'

You would think, wouldn't you? I literally didn't know most of it until I read what was on the website this morning. I certainly didn't know I was a 'legendary SF journalist,' but I'm sure my wife will be having a great deal of fun at my expense.

Looking at the line-up, it looks as though book one is heavily weighted toward 'The Gathering' and early season one. I don't know how much of those interviews are going to be used, but I did some massive interviews with Larry DiTillio and director Jim Johnston during seasons one and two. Ironically, while very little of what they said was off the record, I probably cut some things out so they didn't get into trouble with the production- or me either for that matter. I suspect there will be some revelations in those interviews in particular that will raise a lot of eyebrows. More importantly, you are going to get a very different perspective on a number of events that you probably haven't had before, and from people who were in a position to know what they were talking about.

My order is already in. I'm glad to get access to unreleased materials, as well as having more out of print material <cough> short stories <cough> made available for new and fans late to the show.

With scheduled releases, Karen should be much less anxious.

I thought I was done spending $ on B5 books after buying all the script books a few years back, but this looks interesting. Since I'm planning to watch the entire series while reading the scripts sometime fairly soon, I think maybe I'll want to have these as well.

By the way, has anyone looked up or generated any Cafe Press coupons?

(So far, all those I've tried have not worked, but if leaving an order you still can send coupons to friends then someone might be able to get a coupon code that would work. Even if it is for $50 or over that would be useful to know.)

I didn't even get an offer to send a coupon to a friend when I placed an order I did find a free shipping code on coupon chief.com but that was only about $5.75

That's better than nothing. (And I haven't been able to get any coupons to work. When I did find a free shipping code it said "certain items do not apply" to the minimum order.)
