As annoyed as I (and the rest of us) were with Claudia when she chose to leave,
at the same time I just couldn't justify recasting it like that. It just
didn't feel right to me, and I suspect a lof of fans would've felt the same
way.

I've heard this before, and while it's a sensible and reasonable assumption to
make, the one thing wrong with it is that it ain't true.

When Claudia left, I roundfiled (trashed) thefew scripts I had been working on
with her character because they could not be used. They were first and in some
cases second drafts, or partial scripts.

The scripts with Tracy in them were written for Tracy. Period.
